Get In TouchGo backMaking the most of your outdoor space is a fantastic way to be able to entertain guests, enjoy a romantic night “in” or just appreciate the outdoors. There aren’t many better feelings than enjoying a warm July evening with a glass of red in your garden or on your patio. Or maybe you prefer mouthfuls of crisp winter air surrounding a firepit with friends and family?
Whatever you plan to do with your outdoor space, there are some staple items that will help your property achieve its full potential. Whether you own a small cottage or a stately home, these specific items will make your outdoor area a real pleasure to be in. So, if you’ve been wondering how to create the ideal outdoor living space, we at Home Logic are here to help!
Tip One: Get A Dining Set
Who doesn’t enjoy dining al fresco? It’s a good idea to get a dining table in case you host summer dinner parties or host barbeques and garden parties.
Being outside is good for your physical and mental health so there are no reasons why we shouldn't take our meat and veg or chocolate gateau outside with us too! Pair it with an umbrella to keep the sun’s glare away.
Tip Two: Keep Warm
We’re not blessed with a tropical climate here in the UK, which means the use of our outdoor space is limited to a handful of months each year. To take full advantage of your outdoor space and be able to use it all year, you should look into getting a number of items.
Maybe consider getting a heater specifically made for the outdoors – like the ones you see in restaurants. Or, if you want a less modern experience you could choose to get a firepit. Other options include blankets which you could store in a nice blanket box.
Having lots of appliances and quality furniture in your garden or courtyard is no good if it feels dull to sit in. You can brighten up your area with different plants and flowers to give a wealth of colour and aromas. You can also make your flooring more appealing than the boring concrete slabs and stones
Tip Three: Make it Yours
The best outdoor living spaces are hidden away from the public view just like the rooms in your home. Instead of noticing twitching curtains and passers-by looking over, you may want to make your outdoor entertaining and relaxation area a private one.
A private outdoor space packed with luxuries can make you feel like you’re anywhere in the world. To make your special space more private you could position the setup out of view, grow larger plants or install certain types of taller fencing.
Tip Four: Stay Nourished
To go with that dining table and chair set you bought earlier, you might want to have some cooking equipment. Obviously, you could just cook in the kitchen, but you may also want to look into outdoor kitchen sets and quality barbeques.
Tip Five: Make it Beautiful

Tip Six: Make It Comfortable
After you’ve enjoyed the barbeque, you’ll want to move the party to somewhere a little more relaxing. How about adding outdoor sofas and coffee tables to your outdoor area and creating different “rooms” outside.
You may also want to install more unique items, such as a hammock, bean bags or even daybeds for your Sunday afternoon nap.
Tip Seven: Keep it Secure
After creating the perfect flow between the eating area, sofa and daybed, and arranging your flowers in appealing colour combinations, the last thing you want is it all to be stolen. To help avoid becoming a victim of garden theft – which mostly occurs in the British summertime – you need to do a number of things.
Keeping everything out of sight is the most important thing, but also install high gates with locks and maybe position plants and any anti-theft devices on top of fencing. You should also take valuables indoors when possible and when you leave your property for long durations
If you’re unfortunate enough to have your garden furniture stolen, there are some things you should do.
