Icynene Case Study - Keeping Your Home WarmBy admin
Friday, 16 November 2018
Icynene was chosen to insulate this UK property as the home owners realised their current insulation was outdated and not performing to the capabilities of more modern and efficient products on the market.
The home owners chose Home Logic to insulate their property as we are not just the only BBA approved pitched roof installers licensed to sell Icynene, we also appeared on the brand new season of Grand Designs in October where we were able to insulate an eco friendly tree house in a quaint Gloucestershire town.
Icynene has been used to insulate over 350,000 homes world wide and is now available in over 30 countries. To find out how your home can benefit you can contact one of our professional surveyors by clicking here.
An Airtight Seal That Eliminates Leaks
One of the most unique and innovative reasons that Icynene is ahead of its time compared to traditional insulations is how it is able to create an airtight seal.
The foam is applied in a two part, water blown process and is able to expand to up to 100 times its size after initial application, filling and small air leakage points that traditional insulations such as fibreglass or Celotex would struggle to achieve.
Other benefits of Icynene include the following:
- Proven reduction of energy bills
- Open cell composition prevents the build up of condensation and moisture
- Deters rodents and pests from nesting within your loft space
- Helps block out sound from traffic or neighbours
- Improves EPC rating of your home

Finishing Off: A Job Well Done
Another great factor about Icynene is that it can be seamlessly integrated into your roof. Our standard install does not come with the plasterboard finish but after speaking to many home-owners who are looking to convert their attic into a practical living space, it has now become an option.
As seen in the image post installation our installers have used special tools to cut the Icynene spray foam insulation flush with the wall, and then applying plasterboard over the top.
