Why Would You Consider Solid Wall Insulation?
The most obvious reason for considering such an operation is to prevent heat loss from your home. Up to a quarter of your property’s internal heat may be lost through the surrounding walls.
This is known as thermal bridging or transmission, and is most common in solid walls. The gap within a cavity wall is purposefully placed to counter this natural occurrence.
An uninsulated solid wall will not stop this transfer of heat as most building materials are incredibly poor insulators; especially concrete and brick.
So if you do have solid walls, it is extremely advisable that you have some form of insulation in place to help combat this loss of heat.
