Spray Foam Certifications: What to Watch ForBy admin
Tuesday, 6 August 2019
Choosing an insulation material is only half of the process of upgrading your insulation: the next step is hiring the best spray foam installer.
There are many ways to judge the quality of a spray foam installer, such as by browsing their website, speaking to friends and family who have recently had insulation installed, and learning more about the product that the company offers – not all spray foam products are the same!
One of the best ways to get an idea of the spray foam installer’s ability to provide a quality service, is by checking their spray foam certifications and the different memberships and accreditations they have.
Spray foam certifications come in many forms, but here are four that you should definitely be on the lookout for, and one bonus indication of quality that’s always worth checking out:
Not to be confused with Bachelor of Business Administration, BBA in the world of construction means British Board of Agrément. BBA approval is a widely recognised symbol of a company’s quality and an important reassurance to customers that they’re getting a high standard of service.
BBA is the UK’s leading certification body for construction, and provides a range of certifications, from those pertaining to insulation, to paints, floor components, and roof coverings.
To achieve a BBA certification, insulation installers must go through a very rigorous testing and assessment process.
Icynene Licensed Installer
If you’re considering Icynene spray foam insulation, then one of the most important things to watch out for is an Icynene approved and accredited installer.
To become a licensed installer of Icynene products, installers must undergo extensive training and complete the Icynene licensing protocol.
An Icynene license will give you the reassurance that your installer understands how to manage and install the product correctly and knows how to react in situations that are out of the ordinary.
Without a license, there’s no guarantee that an installer will be able to insulate your home to Icynene’s exacting standards.
TrustMark membership is another important assurance of quality, this time endorsed by the government.
TrustMark registered installers have undergone vetting to ensure that they meet a high standard of service.
The installers will be assessed for trading practices, technical competence, and their commitment to providing great customer service.
In many industries, a Kiwa certification is like the gold standard of quality assurance. Kiwa is ranked within the top 20 for Testing, Inspection, and Certification services.
Much like BBA approval, to become Kiwa certified, spray foam installers must undergo rigorous testing and assessment to prove the quality of their service.
A Kiwa certified company has proven themselves to be trustworthy, competent, and capable of providing a very high-quality service that’s regulation compliant.
Bonus Indication of Quality: Trustpilot
Whilst not technically a certification, membership, or accreditation, Trustpilot ratings are essentially a customer seal of approval that attests to the quality of a service.
Trustpilot is the most powerful platform for reviews in the world – so it’s a very good place to start when researching a company!
When researching spray foam services near you, Trustpilot will provide you with a unique insight into customer experience.
You can take a look at Home Logic’s Trustpilot page and read more than 700 reviews from our previous customers, here.
